It should be noted, this is the final article to be posted to the orignal Wordpress website before the Keionbu migration.
The Courdelane Transportation Authority (CDLTA) recently announced a total reconstruction of several metro stations, meaning that everything from the hood that peeks over the surface to the platform interior, and potentially even the track layouts, are going to be removed and changed.
The following stations will be changed, and then I’ll talk about exactly what we can expect from these renovations.
Seaside
Oriental*
Mayoral
History
Market
Botany
Pearlex
Lucius
*Oriental station was mentioned in the press release, but it was not said if the plan is to renovate it, or remove it. Just that it would receive a “different system adjustment”
Now let’s get down to why they’re doing this, and what we can expect them to look like after renovations.
Here, you can see several of the currently existing stations as they stand. They appear in this order: Pealrex (x2), Lucius(x2), Mayoral, History, and the History Station entrance.
This should pretty well illustrate the problem. These older stations are often cramped, with outdated entrances and no amenities.
Pearlex and Lucius stations are especially bad since the way the two lines overlap causes them to be 2-floor stations, both of which ran into vertical clearance when constructing the second level. Those two will instead have a much wider platform, with one line on each side, allowing for passengers to simply walk across to change lines.
So, what can we anticipate these stations to look like after reconstruction? Well, more than likely, something akin to the newest stations on the system.
Take, for example, New World Station.

New World Station Platform
Along with this, the CDLTA released a new map, showing some new stations and planned extensions.
