There’s now a line of privately funded street lights

There’s a new Boulevard (A few actually) that are being built behind Beef Co. Center. And, as with all roads, they need lighting.

Well, a company by the name of Starlight Operations that has been funding and constructing public service infrastructure for a while now.

The company, a recent subsidiary fo Empire Industries, has been around for a while, though had only made it’s way to Courdelane recently, with this being the first project in the city they’ve openly funded as far as I’m aware.

The road isn’t funded by the company since the Transit Authority typically just uses tax income, but the lamps are the most pricey part of any road.

If we go to what is now the longest road in Courdelane (Especially with some new developments that I’ll cover later this very article) the Curie highway, it’s cost was about $30 million.

Now, the highway is almost 100% elevated, but the streetlamps, totaling over 150, cost about $10 million for the TA.

So while the pessimistic look at it is “Wow, Starlight Operations only paid for the lights? You’d think they could’ve paid for the entire road!” That, while not untrue, isn’t the whole story. The lamps cost Starlight Operations over $3 million, and there’s only about 25.

So no matter what anyone may say, whis is still a good public service and that now makes two of the largest companies in the city supporting the citizens, and no matter how you spin it, I think that’s the most we can ask for.

Sub-Story

Curie Highway expansions and new developments

The deal with this ‘Sub-story’ we’re doing now is that it’s a mini-article about something that may not be big or, in my case especially, comedic enough to justify its own article.

In this case, it’s the new development land behind Beef Co. Center they’ve made.

The massive plots of land now available for purchase.

As you can see, theres already a building there. That’s the headquarters for Donner Summit System Integrations [DSSI]. They’re exactly what their name implies, they make and sell prebuilt computer systems, mostly for consumers and offices.

There are four large plots in total, though they are very large. Each plot is larger than the footprint of the palace.

So it’s not larger in shape, but it’s overall much larger in a few plots.

As for the Highway, it’s gotten quite the expansion.

The Highway is now the longest road in the city, navigating around it from the bottom to the east, it’s over a thousand meters long.

I’m sure this is safe.

The current route of the Highway.

That’ not an error on your computer, either. The Highway goes off the map.

It’ll probably be updated to be larger, but in the meantime, we have to live with the mystery of what it looks like from a satellite view.

I’ll update you all with a full map once it’s all 100% updated, sine you can see the road cuts off at Beef Co. Center.

And that’s all the updates for today.

I’m doing this for Facebook.
